Grounded brainstorming

The useful version of brainstorming here is narrow, not open-ended: ask for options that fit constraints already established in your world. "Suggest three ways to signal in chapter 4 that this character is untrustworthy, without contradicting anything already established about them." • Critique is inconsistent. It can flag factual contradictions reliably. Judging whether a scene is actually good, paced right, or emotionally landing is not its strength; keep human beta readers for that.
• It occasionally scrambles characters, especially in long manuscripts with many similarly named people. Treat any "fact" about a character as worth a quick manual check if it feels off.
• It is not a drafting tool. This workflow treats NotebookLM as read-only analysis of what you already wrote, not as something generating your prose.
